“My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.” – John 10:27

ASL World: We praise God that the ASL (American Sign Language) film for the Deaf, “Where is the Lamb?”, is being field-tested and should soon be released. Conceived and directed by a ROCK coworker who ministers alongside the Deaf with his wife, this 22-minute video starts with a modern-day story of redemption, then tells the story of Abraham and Isaac and the sacrifice on Mount Moriah. It ends with the focus on Jesus the Lamb of God who paid for our salvation with His own blood on that same mountain range nearly 2000 years later.
Here are a few sample comments from Deaf viewers:
- “I shared it with a few, and they said it was amazing.” – One of the film’s Deaf signers
• “It’s real good! I can understand the ASL perfectly! Awesome! Thanks for sharing!” – Deaf lady in Virginia - “The beautiful background art helped me understand visually. I love how it points to the cross. The story is great. The ASL is clear. I love it.” – Deaf man, blind in one eye, in Florida
Pray for impact. Pray for a deep and widespread spiritual awakening among the Deaf. Remember, only 2% are considered “reached.” That means 98% are still unreached with the gospel! Pray that many will watch this story, understand its message, hear Jesus’ voice, trust and follow Him.
India: Last week, one of our translators took 520 One God One Message books in Hindi and Marathi to one of India’s major jails. The warden’s plan is to lend (not give) out the books so each prisoner can read it. “But with all the rats,” asked the warden, “where can we keep so many books?” Solution: our translator bought two steel cabinets. He then wrote: “Pray that the authorities will circulate the books and that souls will be transformed!”
Niger: A surgeon and his wife serving in high-risk zones, write, “We were encouraged last week to attend the dedication of the New Testament in the Kanuri-Manga language after it had been worked on for 40 years! A believer in attendance told us how he heard the gospel in his heart language for the first time years ago after someone gave him a solar-powered audio device loaded with our WAY of RIGHTEOUSNESS programs in Kanuri-Manga. He listened to it and believed the good news. He was so touched by it that he played it openly for his family and neighbors. Yet today he and his wife are still the only known believers in their village.” Pray!
Tanzania: A leader in the New Hope School wrote: “God keeps surprising us as the girls on the Island get closer to their dreams. Blessings to all who are changing the future of these girls and their families!” And the director writes: “Thank you for the 76 boxes of the Swahili KING of GLORY books. We thank you for providing these 3,800 books for our community, to help our people know their Creator-Redeemer and grow spiritually.”
